Leroy G. Mack, III
Advisor
Dr. LeRoy G. Mack, III, a native of our nation’s capital area, brings over three decades
of distinguished active and reserve military service, ministry, and educational leadership
experience to his role as a trusted advisor and advocate for military families.
Commissioned initially as a U.S. Army Infantry Officer (Mechanized) and later assigned to the U.S. Army Intelligence Corps, Dr. Mack’s early career was marked by excellence in leadership and strategic analysis. One of his most notable assignments was serving as Battalion Intelligence Officer for the Opposing Force at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California, where he was the primary editor of the Iraqi Handbook for Desert Storm, which enhanced US soldiers’ readiness and operational effectiveness.
Following his call to ministry, Dr. Mack resigned his Army commission to pursue his
theological education and ordination as an American Baptist minister. While serving
in the Army Reserve, he ministered as an associate pastor. He worked in corporate
America as a Medical Sales Representative for Johnson & Johnson Medical Inc., earning top corporate honors, including the prestigious Glamour Trip Award to Monaco, recognizing his excellence in leadership and performance.
Recommissioned as a U.S. Navy Chaplain, Dr. Mack served honorably in multiple combat and contingency deployments, including Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Jukebox Lotus – the Benghazi crisis of September 2012. His ministry spanned service at sea, on land, and across commands where he provided spiritual care, family counseling, and moral leadership to Sailors, Marines, and their families worldwide.
Dr. Mack is a graduate of Morehouse College (B.A., Business Administration), Chapman University (M.A., Human Resource Management), and Wesley Theological Seminary (MDiv., 2000; DMin., 2021). His academic achievements reflect
his commitment to leadership development, pastoral care, family-centered ministry, and
education.
Today, as a retired U.S. Navy Chaplain, Dr. Mack continues to serve the Woodlawn Chapel community at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He supports military families and advocates for faith-based initiatives that strengthen the resilience of military families.
